This notice is to inform Parents, Guardians, Elders, and RECN Leadership that all MNEA schools are
closed until further notice due to the declared State of Emergency related to flooding.
Effective immediately, all MNEA staff and students are dismissed.
This action is taken in accordance with a Chief and Headmen Ordinance, which comes into effect as of
today, Monday, May 4, 2026.
Emergency officials have advised that the peak flood period is expected by Friday, May 8, 2026.
This Chief and Headmen Ordinance has been issued to:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all members, residents, staff, and students
- Support emergency response and evacuation efforts
- Allow for the effective and coordinated management of emergency measures during this flood
event
Further updates will be provided as conditions change and when it is safe to resume school operations.
